Chris Cain
Dancer
Christopher D. Cain is a science guy. He works in the fields of phytoanalytics, biochemistry, and hormone research. He spent eight years at the UC Riverside Biochemistry Department doing research and lecturing. He spent 15 years doing research at the Jerry L. Pettis Veterans Medical Center.
Christopher is married to Mary Mailander, MD, whom he describes as his favorite pediatrician in Redlands. They have four grown children.
Denise Bourne, a member of the Symphony’s Gala Committee, recruited Christopher to be one of this year’s dancers when she saw him do a couple of fast moves in her living room and convinced him he could bring back the disco days of New York City in the 1970s as a Gala dancer.
Christopher practices lyengar yoga (since his hip surgery) and is an active member of Ride Yourself Fit cycling club. He has been an active member of Redlands YMCA for 30 years and served on the Y’s board.
“I’m looking forward to having lots of fun as a Gala dancer,” says Christopher, “I hope everyone else is not too concerned about me having so much fun.”
