What is the Purse Party?

Since 2016, the Redlands Symphony's Purse Party has brought fashion and charitable giving together for the benefit of musical activities in our community. Through silent and live auctions, you can not only walk away with a new accessory fit for a night on the town, but you participate in an investment in the different programs the Symphony offers to our community.

What programs are supported by the Purse Party?

In addition to supporting free tickets for those in our community in need of music's intrinsic benefits, proceeds from the Purse Party helps fund the following education and community engagement programs.

The flagship education program of the Redlands Symphony, OrKIDstra brings every 4th and 5th grade student in Redlands Unified, Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified, and area private, charter, and parochial schools to the Memorial Chapel for a free performance. Curriculum and learning activities are provided.

OrKIDstra TO GO! packs up the Memorial Chapel experience and brings it direct to school sites. With programs that link music to science, language arts, math, and other core subjects, these small performances reach students where they are: their own school building.

Facing illness of yourself or a loved one is a scary proposition. The Redlands Symphony's Notes of Comfort program places musicians in waiting rooms and other common areas to provide music that soothes the soul, calms the nerves, and creates an emotional outlet for patients and families.
